The Fine Line

In 2009, Grace wrote and self-published a book of knitting patterns inspired by Mondrian’s reflections on beauty in art, and asked Northfound to design it. From cover to cover, the book’s pages echo the simple geometry and striking palettes of the shawls within. Strong blocks of color and image contrasted with fine typographic forms establish movement throughout, while diagrams and charts provide more granular detail for construction. The book ends with Mondrian’s quote on the back cover.
