When artist Jennifer Klemp approached us to design her wedding invitations, she had one requirement: There had to be a handcrafted element in the piece. With this stipulation in mind, we devised a hand-assembled invitation that centers around the concept of joining, employing buttons, snaps and hooks in rhythmic patterns and creating an outer band fastened with a real hook and eye closure. Muted tones of rose and sage and old-fashioned letterforms, distinctive with their chubby ampersands and dramatic descenders, lent a historic quality throughout.

“Everyone loved these invitations. My uncle even mentioned them in his toast!”
